Teaching new academic vocabulary can be challenging, but it is one of the most important, impactful, and empowering activities that teachers can do to improve the literacy skills of their students. In this presentation I’ll review key research findings on vocabulary instruction, and I’ll provide the audience with 10 evidence-based strategies to increase the depth and breadth of academic vocabulary.
