Nicole Mills is a research education analyst in RTI’s Education and Workforce Development division. She has expertise in elementary literacy, curriculum and instruction, and professional development. Before joining RTI, she served for 10 years as a classroom teacher, remediation specialist, and curriculum facilitator. She has extensive experience designing and implementing differentiated curriculum instruction targeting a wide range of academic abilities. Ms. Mills has analyzed district and state assessment data to determine gaps and form remediation strategies for at-risk students, targeting specific goals to increase student performance. She has supported teachers in efficient and exemplary instructional decision-making through reflective planning and data analysis. She has provided individual and team conferencing and coaching with teachers through professional learning communities to accelerate the use of exemplary instructional practices to improve student achievement.
